Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the TalkFam application ("the App"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The App

TalkFam is a voice messaging and walkie-talkie application for iPhone and Apple Watch, allowing family members and invited groups to exchange short voice messages, pings, and emergency alerts.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App, or the minimum age required in your country. Users under 18 should use the App with parental supervision and as part of an Apple Family Sharing group.

3. Your Account

TalkFam uses Sign in with Apple. You do not create a username or password with us. You are responsible for the security of your Apple ID and for any activity that occurs on your devices.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App to:

  • Harass, threaten, or harm any person
  • Transmit unlawful, abusive, hateful, or sexually explicit content
  • Send fraudulent or misleading emergency (SOS) alerts
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App
  • Use the App to violate any law or third-party right

5. Voice Content Ownership

You retain ownership of any voice messages you record. By sending a message to a group, you grant the other group members the right to receive, play, and (where the App permits) save that message. We do not claim any ownership of your content.

6. Groups and Invite Codes

Anyone with a valid 6-character invite code can join a group. You are responsible for sharing invite codes only with people you trust. You can remove members or regenerate codes at any time from the group settings.

7. SOS Disclaimer

TalkFam's SOS feature is not a substitute for emergency services. SOS broadcasts are sent only to members of your active group and depend on internet connectivity, device availability, and your group members' notification settings. In a true emergency, dial your local emergency number (911, 999, 112, etc.) first.

8. Service Availability

We strive to keep the App available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The App relies on Apple's iCloud, CloudKit, and Push Notification services, which are outside our direct control.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TalkFam and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to missed messages, undelivered alerts, or loss of data. The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your devices and deleting your account from Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate access for users who violate these terms.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here and, where appropriate, surfaced in the App. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which TalkFam is operated, without regard to conflict of law principles.
